Privacy Policy

SEOSync Bulk Edit Alt Text ("the App") provides automated, AI-assisted generation and optimization of image alt text for product images and online store assets ("the Service") to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

Personal Information the App Collects

When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account, in accordance with the permissions you grant:

• Store and account information — your store's myshopify.com domain, store name, and (for the user installing or operating the App) name, email address, locale, and Shopify user ID.
• Products and product images — product titles, image IDs, image URLs, and existing image alt text, so the App can read and update alt text (scope: write_products).
• Online store theme and files — theme assets and files where image alt text may be stored or updated (scopes: write_themes, write_files).
• Online store navigation — used where alt text optimization affects navigational assets (scope: write_online_store_navigation).
• Billing information — your subscription plan and usage counts, managed through Shopify Billing.

We use access tokens provided by Shopify to make authenticated requests on your behalf. We store a limited record of the App's activity in your store, such as which images were processed and the previous and new alt text values, so that changes can be reviewed and reverted.

Information we do not collect

The App operates within the Shopify admin. It does not place cookies on, track, or collect personal information from visitors to your storefront, and it does not use the App to deliver advertising.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use the information we collect in order to:

• Provide and operate the Service, including generating and updating image alt text;
• Maintain a history of optimizations so changes can be reviewed, retried, or reverted;
• Manage your subscription, plan limits, and usage;
• Provide customer support and respond to your requests;
• Maintain, secure, and improve the App.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We share your information with the following third-party service providers ("sub-processors") strictly to operate the Service:

• OpenAI — product image URLs and related product context are sent to OpenAI to generate alt text. (Privacy Policy)
• Supabase — managed PostgreSQL database hosting where App data is stored (EU region). (Privacy Policy)
• Fly.io — application hosting infrastructure. (Privacy Policy)
• Trigger.dev — background job processing used to run optimization tasks. (Privacy Policy)
• Shopify — the platform on which your store and the App operate, including billing. (Privacy Policy)

Finally, we may also share your personal information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Data Retention

We retain the information described above for as long as the App is installed on your store, so that the Service can function. When you uninstall the App, we delete or anonymize your store's data in response to Shopify's mandatory data-erasure requests (shop/redact) within the timeframe required by Shopify. We also honor the customers/redact and customers/data_request webhooks; note that the App does not store customer (buyer) personal data.

Your Rights

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask that it be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us using the details below. Please note that your information may be transferred and processed outside of your country of residence, including in regions where our sub-processors operate.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
